Even the best and most skilful intentions to correct the ills of our society and create a positive change, will fail in the long run, unless we ensure that we reform education. Without a well designed and effective education system, we can patch up the problems all we want – they will not handle.

The ultimate handling for ANY social problem – be it drugs, economic troubles on every level, poverty, environment, immorality, criminality, violations of human rights, injustice, corruption, wars… you name it, – the ultimate handling is proper education.

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 24 January as the International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for peace and development.

But, let’s also celebrate and express our gratitude and admiration for all educators (all those who educate in or out of the class) who strive to educate but also to reform the education system.

Education is the foundation of our culture and the ultimate handling for every problem of the society. The rest are just patch ups and firefighting. That needs to be done too as we do not have the luxury to wait for the next generation, but the patch up is a patch up. The ultimate handling is education! #education #reformingeducation
